The swarm of bees Grace Bradfield

I was just eating my food with Livvy, Skye, Aria and Emily and we were just having a talk about our lines for the play but then we heard screaming. Ava ran over shouting

“BEES! BEES! RUN!!!!!!!” I was really scared and I screamed as I ran into the class. Everyone was like a herd of sheep. I was running like a wild animal. I was looking at the bees and they looked like a swirling tornado.

We all went in the class so we couldn't get stung. Mrs May was trying to call Dana but he didn’t pick up so she called Megan. She said that she would get a hold of him.

He came. I was so excited that he was here. He couldn’t get the bee hive so he got the snippers to cut the branch. He got this special bucket. He cut the branch and some of  the bees slipped in. Some bees went in the bucket. Dana closed the lid. All the bees were surrounding it.

Mrs May  and I are in the Mr willy wonka's Factory. Mrs May and I are stuffing all the rainbow gobstopper in our pockets. The big purple lollipop is the size of our head. When we see the Oompa-loompas we scream. I can see Mrs May running like a mad pig. The Oompa-loompas are saying “That is a crazy  women. Yea I Know I replied. We went on the pink lolly seahorse. Mrs May is putting her head in the chocolate river. I tell her that she is gorging herself. I tried to get you but we both fell in. We got swirled around and around then the pip came we got sucked up the pip we swirl and swirl to we went up the glass pip into the bubble gum room. When we got there we started to it throw the bubble gum and then we were covered with bubble gum and creamy chocolate. We said together in a loud voices WE ARE NEVER GOING TO THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY AGAIN.  By Grace Ellen Bradfield.

House on fire

I hear the alarm going . I quickly say FIRE! FIRE! Mum gets low and goes and helps Sadie and Billie. I see the fire licking the roof. I hear Lola crying. I get on my hands and knees and get low, get down, get out. I am shaking like we just had an earthquake. When we are out at the mailbox I see the house on hot, angry, ferocious fire. I shout at Mum and say CALL 111 NOW. While  Mum was on the phone. I  count all my sisters, Sadie, Billie,  Lola, Eve and Me I say, but Dad is not here. When the fire truck comes.I say “Dad is not here. “They quickly get him out. He is coughing so hard he has to go to the hospital . After 6 weeks he went home. We got a new home and  never want that to happen again.By Grace Bradfield

Tree planting at Waitahuna

On Tuesday 16th of May, we left school at 9.30. We all had to go into cars, Room 4 and Room 7. We drove to Waitahuna River which is on Nick's farm. There were some people that were from the Landcare. There were the electric fisherman, Matt from the Department of conservation and some other people. We planted flaxes along the river. We had to dig a hole, then we took the plant out of the black bag and put it in the hole. We wanted to help the eels and the fish that live in the Waitahuna River to have a better, healthier environment to live in. The flaxes are to help the eels to hide. Planting flaxes now will make the river a better environment for a long time. We got into a group of three children and one adult to dig the holes and plant our flaxes. The two classes planted about 200 flaxes.
We did electric fishing and we caught an eel. It was a lamprey eel. My dad touched the eel. We did electric fishing. It can stun the fish.

We were doing Hundertwasser portraits. We had to have 

big eyes and big heads. We had to have our hair 

out. We couldn't have a neck and our arms and shoulders were 

down.

senior swimming sports

On Friday it was swimming sports at the Lawrence pool. I was very excited. The first bit was freestyle.  I  got 2nd place but I was going to get 1st place but Ava beat me. Then I had a break. Then It was time for backstroke. We had to jump into the pool . I came third in the race. Then I had a very long break. Then it was lunch time . It was time to do my fluoter board. Then I got 1st for the first time . Then it was the diving race .Then I got in the relay. It was really fun!!!!!!!!

Modigliani Self Portrait

We have been doing Modigliani Self Portraits.

We had to do long necks. We had to do big eyes. We have to put on bold colours and we could do our favorite colour that we haven't used for our background. 

athletics

Last Friday was athletics day. We did high jump, long jump, sprints and some other sports. I was in the under 9 group. The one I liked the best was high jump. I got 80 cm.There was a sausage sizzle.  

Swimming at school

This term we are doing swimming at the Lawrence swimming pool. It is really hot in the little pool and cold in the big pool. It is really fun. My group is group two. We have to do freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke. We are learning to do lengths in the big pool ready to do swimming sports next week.
