Yellow

What smells strong?
What smells disgusting?
What taste bitter?
What taste delicious?
What taste juicy?
What feels bumpy?
What feels slimy?
What feels gooey?

As I felt the object, I asked myself is it an orange? because it felt bumpy, slimy and gooey...eww.

As I taste the object the bitterness started tingling my tongue but what was it? It was yummy and that juice was dripping down my chin..Mmm.

When I saw the object it was yellow like the sun and juice was dripping down that yellow sun

Can you guess what it was?

A lemon.

Real-life superheros (William hardham)

In room 7 we have been focusing on real-life superheroes for inquiry and we had to find people that we thought were superheroes. We came up with soldiers, singers, actors or sport players. We had to find 3 burning questions and we had to search them on our Chromebook and put the research into our own words. Then we had to choose if we wanted to do a Google Slide, Powtoon, poster or a double door. I did William Hardham, he is a soldier. Here is my presentation.

roll-a-story

Rrr! Rrr! said the angry alien. He look around with his red evil eyes .''Where am I '' he thought. The angry alien read a sign it said , welcome to the magic forest where your dreams  come  true . He doesn't like this place . It girly for him. The Alien kept on walking. He arrived in the middle at this place beside a house. He was freezing like an ice cube. He walked in like a penguin. He slammed the door shut.BOOM! A voice came out from the distance. "who are you'' said the voice. ''Um I-I-I an the angry alien. She walked down the stair. He was scared. The witch said ''what big purple head you have got, what big red  evil eyes you have got and what bright orange hair you have got'' She lead him into the potion room. The witch said ''Follow me outside. He did. ''Now stand here'' ''Ok'' She got her potions out. BOOM ! When the angry alien saw him he was a tree.

Metaphor poems

Over the past three weeks Room 7 have been learning how to write effective metaphors. A metaphor is a direct comparison to an object/thing.

We sent some postcards to Kawerau South School that said a metaphor about our self. We made some of our own metaphor posters. One of our activities was to describe ourselves in a metaphor poem. We had to describe ourselves as a lolly, tree, vehicle, something in our community, sandwich and a piece of clothing.

Here is one that I made.

The swarm of bees Grace Bradfield

I was just eating my food with Livvy, Skye, Aria and Emily and we were just having a talk about our lines for the play but then we heard screaming. Ava ran over shouting
“BEES! BEES! RUN!!!!!!!” I was really scared and I screamed as I ran into the class. Everyone was like a herd of sheep. I was running like a wild animal. I was looking at the bees and they looked like a swirling tornado.
We all went in the class so we couldn't get stung. Mrs May was trying to call Dana but he didn’t pick up so she called Megan. She said that she would get a hold of him.
He came. I was so excited that he was here. He couldn’t get the bee hive so he got the snippers to cut the branch. He got this special bucket. He cut the branch and some of  the bees slipped in. Some bees went in the bucket. Dana closed the lid. All the bees were surrounding it.
